📣 Dromtarriffe GAA Announcement
We are delighted to share that we will be hosting our first ever Poc Fada on the morning of December 27th!
The event will take place around the 5km loop in Rathcoole, and we’re looking forward to a great morning of hurling skill, fresh air, and post-Christmas fun for all ages.
Dromtarriffe Poc Fada 2025
State of play:
* Each team will be give a time slot between 9:30 and 11:30 depending on numbers.
* Please attend Clubrooms at least 20 minutes before given start time
- [x] Teams of 3
- [x] €15 per adult
- [x] €5 per juvenile
- [x] Each team will be given 4 slitors numbered 1-4 and must return with one of these slitors for score to be counted
How to play:
- [x] Player 1 takes shot 1, player 2 takes shot 2, player 3 takes shot 3, etc
- [x] The shot is taken from the point that the ball is stopped or enters the ditch or goes into the ditch
- [x] The 2 players not taking the shot can stand ahead of where the team think the ball will stop, players can also stop the ball if they think it’s going into the ditch.
- [x] Team with the lowest amount of shots at the finish line with at least one slitor they started with will win
To note:
* Juveniles to be accompanied by at least one adult per team
* Parents of juveniles are invited to stay at the clubrooms for the duration and enjoy tea and coffee and a sweet treat
* Everybody is invited to come down and walk around the loop also to see how teams are getting on and help out
